Super Pressure Balloon Flight, August 8, 2015

California Near Space Project (CNSP) launched a Super Pressure Balloon from Silicon Valley California on Saturday, August 8, 2015, flight # CNSP-26; call sign K6RPT-11. This is another one of our SPEED Project missions to push the evolution of efficiency and design. This Super Pressure balloon is completely different from earlier SP flights, the changes include, geometric design, additional gore and new seaming technique. All design changes have been successful, with an altitude of 50,700 feet or 15.4 km. The last report was from Turkey on August 21, 2015. This flight was using only solar to power the APRS tracking system.
