Super Pressure Balloon Flight, June 13, 2016

CNSP-29   K6RPT-12

 

California Near Space Project (CNSP) launched a Super Pressure Balloon from Silicon Valley California on Monday, June 13, 2016, flight # CNSP-29; call sign K6RPT-12. This is another one of our SPEED Project missions to push the evolution of efficiency and design. This Super Pressure balloon is a SBS-13 with a float altitude of 48,500 feet or 14.7 km. On November 1, 2016 this flight broke the duration record with 140 days in flight. The flight is using only solar to power the APRS tracking system.
