Super Pressure Balloon Flight, April 12, 2015

CNSP-24   K6RPT-11

 

California Near Space Project (CNSP) launched a Super Pressure Balloon from Silicon Valley California on Sunday, April 12, 2015, flight # CNSP-24; call sign K6RPT-11. This is another one of our  SPEED Project missions to push the evolution of efficiency and design. The flight completed its journey around the world on Monday, April 27, 2015, with the last report coming from Japan on May 10, 2015, after one month, 8 hours from the time of launch. CNSP-24 crossed the US, the Atlantic and Japan twice, traveling 35,951 miles. This flight used only solar to power the APRS tracking system.
